Savage Genius is a band originating in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan and currently signed to JVC Entertainment's label Aa is the only remaining member of the band.
The duo Aa (vocals and lyricist) and Warner Music Japan, cutting two singles. In February 2002, the band debuted with the single Orange.
In 2004 they signed with Victor Entertainment's sub-label flying DOG, where they continue to release songs, many of which are anime theme songs. They released Omoi wo Kanadete, their first single with flying DOG in October 2004.
On the 30th of November 2007, it was announced that one of the group's , Takumi, had retired. Since then, Aa is collaborating with other artists for composing works.
