Well, I won't argue with that. I expected GITS SAC S1 and 2's quality but it definitely didn't deliver anything close to the creative and technical prowesses of its predecessors. Though, I don't dislike it either when I think about it as a separate thing. I mean, there's a LOT to criticize but still, it was a good watch. It's not like there's much choices in the cyberpunk department anyway.

perhaps i'm pesimistic about it, but after seeing the trailer, it just looks like a rip-off, playing on emotions. sure, the fact they're trying to recreate it faithfully is worth praising, but then... Scarlett Johansson? and just "Major"?

it's like a bad joke. their audience is everyone but anime fans.

GITS is what introduced me into Anime along with Vampire Hunter D. Love them both but GITS holds a special place especially since I used to be a programmer.
